Never before have I experienced festivals with such intensity… So many and so wondrous…. In an incredibly full summer, packed with beauty and adventure, just the way I would have wanted it…
It feels like my summer actually started in April with the Festival Dell’Oriente in Rome, where I plunged into the inebriating fragrances, colours and sounds of the East. This was my first time performing on that stage… and it filled my heart with joy; I also had my own sound space, where I could welcome visitors and friends… and meditate together.
Then in May I travelled to London, where I sang at Mantratherapy, an amazing event conceived and run by Prashant K and many of his friends, to share the power and beauty of Mantras, before travelling on to the Mind Body & Spirit Festival, where I performed meditative concerts of voice and crystal bowls in a yurt to packed audiences.
The connection continued in July in Portugal at the Boom Festival, one of the world’s best and oldest “transformational” festivals… which for me was a truly “shamanic” experience, over and above its commitment to being eco-friendly… It was incredible to be part of a temporary community of forty thousand people, festival-goers and artists living in total harmony… So many people for a week living life as they would want to live always, openly, with joy… among huge temples to dance, meditation and culture… I went on the journey of my Alchemical concert with more than 300 other souls…. It was a bath of love that I will never forget…
Then, back to Italy, infused with hope for the future and energy for the WAO Festival in August. This was my second year here, and I had the honour of opening the Festival at the Opening Ceremony… For the first time, I worked with wonderful osteopath Luca Blasi: we combined his osteopathy and my music therapy to create a unique treatment that gave so much to us and to the people we met…
Later in August, I sang between the Moon and the Calanchi (stunning eroded hills) at the Festival of Paesologia in Aliano. This too was my second year there, and I was just as struck as the first time at the incredible beauty of the place: it is truly magical, even surreal, beyond time and space…. Every year here, Franco Arminio and his team invite a host of artists and performers to come together for this cultural and creative festival where things happen 24 hours a day, among another unique temporary community of people who want to live in this world today as a better place. Last year at Aliano, with photographer Adam Victor, we gave a debut to The Vocography Project. This year we had the amazing space of the auditorium to perform it, offering a meditative journey to enthralling photographic images…
Less than a week later, I took my sound therapy to the 7 Chakras Festival… where I offered my workshop in therapeutic sound and voice baths, surrounded by beautiful nature near Tuscania…
Last but not least… in early September I landed at the Yoga Fest in Matera, where I had the priviledge of sharing the importance of singing from the heart, without fear or shame… the importance of vibrating at this special frequency… using sound and meditative song also and especially in everyday life, not just when meditating…
My European Festival tour has now come to an end… and when I look back I see that as well as all the amazing experiences and people I’ve met, it has reinforced my conviction that everything is possible… with the powerful energy of love in our hearts…!
